ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain Friday said that Pakistan is keen to further enhance level of cooperation with Japan particularly in the areas of trade, investment, development, energy, institution building and capacity building.

He said that Pakistan regards Japan as an important friend and a development partner.

The President was talking to outgoing ambassador of Japan, Hiroshi Inomata, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

The President said that the Japanese investors should take advantage of the investment friendly policies and increase their investment in Pakistan in diverse areas.

The President noted with appreciation that Yamaha Manufacturing Plant in Karachi had been inaugurated on April 27, 2015 and expressed the optimism that this will motivate more Japanese entities to invest in Pakistan.

The President called for further enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and technology and work for mutual benefit.

The President said that Pakistan would welcome the Japanese companies to invest and transfer the latest Japanese technology to Pakistan that would enhance the capacity of its industrial sector to produce value added goods.

The President appreciated the contributions made by outgoing ambassador of Japan for further strengthening of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan.

Hiroshi Inomata thanked the President for support extended by the government of Pakistan during his tenure and hoped that bilateral relations would attain new heights in future.

The President wished the outgoing Japanese envoy success in his future life.
