PTV Sports Live: New Zealand: Pakistan gets an excellent opportunity to not only win the three-match T20 series against New Zealand on Sunday but also to pave the way for becoming number one team in ICC T20 rankings.
The two teams will meet at the Seddon Park, Hamilton on Sunday at 11:00 am (PST) for the second encounter. Pakistan won the first game against New Zealand by 16 runs and led the series 1-0.
In the first T20 played in Auckland on Friday, Pakistan while batting first scored 171 runs for 8 in stipulated 20 overs. The opener Muhammad Hafeez remained the highest scorer with 61 runs.
In response, New Zealand team was all out for 155 runs. The Captain KS Williamson scored 70 runs while Colin Munro made quick fire 56 runs off just 27 balls.
For Pakistan, Wahan Raiz bagged 3 wickets while Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul took 2 wickets each. Muhammad Amir who played his first international match after a gap of 5 years secured 1 wicket.
Shahid Afridi was declared man of the match for taking 2 important wickets and also contributing with the bat as he made 23 runs in just 8 balls he faced.
It is most likely that Pakistan will keep its playing eleven for the second T20 unchanged but the experienced batsman Ross Taylor is expected to join and empower the New Zealand middle order.
