Tripda recently celebrated their first anniversary of successful operations in Pakistan on December 19, 2015. The festivities were hosted by Ali Gul Pir, who turned out to be a Tripda user as well. The event was attended by users and IT professionals alike, making it a huge success.Tripda

To be honest, I was a bit surprised to learn about the success the app has seen in the country, as I wasn’t really a fan of the idea of an app that allowed strangers to share the cost of a car ride from Lahore to Islamabad. Don’t take me wrong, the idea of such a platform is great and has seen a great amount of success in a lot of countries but considering the security conditions of our country, I was a bit skeptical about the whole thing. Surprisingly enough, I couldn’t have had been more wrong as in its 1 year of operations in the country, there were a total of 0 mishaps and accidents reported.

Among the 13 countries the app is operational in, Pakistan was revealed to be among the top 5 markets of the app users, showcasing that even though we struggle with class differences, terrorism and other problems that plague us, we still love and trust each other. The app is slowly expanding its horizons and has already begun to not only include more routes for users to share but it has also started its local university commute program as well. Considering the security the app provides and the money people save, I think I wouldn’t be wrong in assuming that Tripda still has a long way of success ahead of it.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
