KARACHI, Pakistan: One of Pakistan’s leading textile brand LALA presents Gul Mohar at ‘Silencing The Dark’ on Thursday 17th December 2015 in New Delhi, India, an initiative in association with Richa Maheshwari Films and Photography, 6TH Avenue and National Association of Blind [NAB] India to create awareness for the blind. Indeed, LALA’s participation is in direct support of LALA’s CSR initiative #LALAlightsuplives where the brand collaborations such as ‘Lifestyle Pakistan in India’ in 2014, an initiative to support Orphan girls.
The Gul Mohar Collection as the name suggests takes its inspiration from flowers and floral patterns and makes use of a variety of finest fabrics such as Silks, Wools, Marina, Jamawar and Cotton sand with embroideries, cutworks and embellishments. The collection itself will encompass an amalgamation of 90’s era style flowing towards the traditional settings that incorporates elements of culture and traditions with eastern and western cuts. The collection pays homage to the cause by supporting the idea that blindness doesn’t confine the imagination and creativity of an individual instead it encourages them to excel in various forms.
On LALA’s association with Silencing the Dark, CEO Pervez Lala has said: “Blindness is one of the most baffling problems facing mankind. In most cases we are helpless to prevent this however we can still make a difference by creating awareness on the cause and cure of blindness through such initiatives. LALA has been continuously supported such initiatives as there is a need to enable people and educate them with measures. Not much has been done in terms of propagating the message around and the blind population is soaring high every year. LALA, in past has been associated with numerous social causes and this time, through this campaign we are trying to make a difference in the lives of visually impaired. Serving humanity recognizes no boundaries. Our plan is to reach out globally and lend a helping hand.”
