ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday said Pakistan values its ties with Tajikistan as both are connected in cultural and social bonds over the centuries.
“We should work towards further cementing these ties in economic and trade”, he said in a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Tajikistan Aslo Sirojidin Muhridinovich who called him here.
The two sides discussed the matters of mutual interest and agreed to broaden the cooperation in economic, cultural and education sectors.
They two sides agreed both Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy cordial and brotherly relations and resolved to further strengthen them by enhanced cooperation in various fields.
Ahsan Iqbal underlined the need for increasing the cooperation in education sector especially in higher education through exchange of faculties and students between the two countries.
He also urged for increasing the people-to-people contact.
The Minister also informed Tajikistan Foreign Minister about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Vision-2025.
He also informed about the economic recovery Pakistan gained in last two and half years through sound economic policies and macroeconomic stability.
Tajikistan Foreign Minister appreciated the economic turnaround Pakistan made in last two and half years.
He said that his country is interested to work closely with Pakistan for regional stability and economic cooperation.
