ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani has said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) would make capital the most modern city of the world.

He said Pakistan was progressing by leaps and bounds under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and soon the country would rise as a big economic power in the world.

He was addressing a reception dinner hosted by the newly elected Chairman Syed Zeshan Ali Naqvi of PML-N in Union Council-49, Shah Allah Ditta, here on Sunday night.

He expressed satisfaction over the party’s performance in local government (LG) polls in the Islamabad capital territory (ICT), adding that there was still room for improvement.

To achieve development of the city, the PML-N winning candidates would have to work with more passion.

He said that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had expressed greetings to the newly elected members of local body election in the federal capital.

Talking about elections in Karachi, he said that Liyari was hub of a political party but now PML-N had won 4 seats from there in recent local election.

The PML-N had earlier won the general election in Gilgit-Baltistan, and by elections in different constituencies and now a leading winner party in the LG elections, he added.

He said PML-N had emerged a major political force at grassroots level by virtue of its overwhelming majority in the Local government (LG) polls.

He said “I promise to resolve issues of workers on priority”.

He said the people had rejected the politics of allegations and those who were creating hurdles in the way of progress through sit-ins had badly exposed by the nation.

Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CA&DD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Minister of State for Human Rights, Barrister Zafar Ullah, MNA (PML-N) Malik Ibrar and elected chairmen and vice chairmen of PML-N from Union Councils of ICT also attended the reception.

Earlier in his address Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that people had buried the politics of allegations and so-called change.

He said the vision of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif would be accomplished as the era of progress and prosperity had begun in the country.

He said “I am a local representative, understand the problems of area and try to resolve them on priority”.

On the occasion, Azam Khan UC-48 and Gulfraz Khan UC-45 2 independent Chairman of ICT announced to participate in PML-N.
