ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Sustainable Policy Development Institute (SDPI) would organize 8th South Asia Economic Summit and SDPI’s eighteenth sustainable development conference on December 7-10.
The theme of South Asia economic Summit is “regional cooperation for sustainable development in South Asia”, where as in Sustainable Conference the forum would discuss “securing peace and prosperity” in the region.
The event aims at highlighting the issues and challenges faced by the region in order to promote the bilateral trade, investment, social and cultural relations of regional countries.
The forum would also discuss the services trade in South Asia, investment in agriculture and scope for regional cooperation and political economy of transit trade in region.
During the 4-day summit, the experts of regional countries would also discuss regional cooperation on disaster risk management and achieving gender equality and empowering women.
Besides discussing range of topics, the event would cover issues including water management, human development, rights of women and energy security for sustainable development in the region.
The conference would also discuss the fiscal policies to reduce inequalities, accountability and food security in which the experts of regional countries would share their knowledge and experiences for sustainable development in the region.
