LAHORE, Pakistan: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Pak-China Monument on The Mall here on Saturday.

Talking to the media, he said there was staunch friendship between Pakistan and China, adding that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was an example of fast friendship between two countries.

The CPEC project would help Pakistan to emerge as a strong economic country, he added.

He said development projects like Gwadar Port would accelerate progress of the country.

The chief minister said with the cooperation of China work on different projects worth billion of dollars was in progress.

China Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said the Punjab chief minister was a close friend of China, adding that the monument depicts the best friendship between Pakistan and China.
