ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would finalize code of conduct for media for coverage of general elections within a few days, Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan said on Tuesday.

Talking to media persons after meeting of the Commission with representatives of the media organizations in Islamabad on Tuesday, the ECP Secretary said the participants were agreeable to the code and after further consultations with representatives of Pakistan Broadcasters Association and PFUJ‚ the code would be finalized.

Ishtiaq said a complaint cell would be established at the Commission which would have representatives of media as well.

The meeting was attended among others by Secretary Information and Broadcasting Agha Nadeem‚ Principal Information Officer Imran Gardezi‚ Director General Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi‚ Agha Nasir‚ Imtiaz Alam and Khushnood Ali Khan.
