ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 95 percent construction work of Peshawar Morr Interchange has been done and it would be inaugurated on March 23.

The Rs 5.56 billion interchange project being constructed at the junction of Kashmir Highway and 9th Avenue is being equally shared by the federal and the Punjab governments.

Talking to the state-run news agency, Project Manager Col.(R) Abdul Qayume said that the total length of the underground, overhead and ramp roads is 14 kilometres with a width of one-and-a-half kilometres.

As many as eight flyovers and many roads are part of the project, he added.

He said that low relaxation imported steel has been used in girders and their life span would be over 100 years.

He said that the project is considered as the largest interchange in South Asia which would be instrumental in solving the traffic problems of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
