ISLAMABAD: At least 83 persons have been killed while 93 others have sustained injuries in the ongoing heavy torrential downpour and flash floods across the country, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in its latest report on Wednesday

A total of 84,272 people have been affected by rains and floods across the country, the NDMA reported said.

While total 354,982 hectares of land and 145,078 hectares of ready crops have been ruined in different parts of the country.

The report said that 2,308 houses have been devastated completely while 1,798 houses have been damaged partially because of heavy rain and floods in various areas of the country.

Moreover, the floods and heavy rains have affected over 333 villages in different areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh, the NDMA report said.
