7 killed as Peshawar bus catches fire in cylinder explosion

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: At least seven persons were killed while 11 others sustained injuries as a bomb went off in a passenger van in Bazid Khel area of Peshawar on Thursday.

The sources said that the blast took place on Kohat Road when the van was travelling to Parachinar.

The additional inspector general (AIG) bomb disposal squad Shafqat Malik said that five kilograms of explosive was used in the blast and the bomb was planted under a passenger seat.

The casualties were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.
