Social4,000 policemen to be recruited in Punjab for foreigners' security

LAHORE: As many as 4,000 policemen will be recruited in Punjab as part of short and long term measures for providing security to foreigners.

The decision was taken during a high level meeting chaired by the chief minister Shahbaz Sharif to evaluate the security situation in the province for Independence Day.

During the meeting, the chief minister said that law and order was a top priority for the province as he called on concerned authorities to ensure fool proof security on August 14.

Authorities were also directed to ensure that the ban on one wheeling in the province is upheld.

The chief minister further said that negligence will not be tolerated in maintaining law and order.
