Islamabad: Total 493 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of the Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 04 lives were lost and 395 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 175 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details, 215 drivers, 81 pedestrians and 278 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 127 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 136 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 58 RTAs in Faisalabad with 71 victims and Multan remained at third position with 37 RTAs and 37 victims.

The details further show that total 574 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 470 males and 104 females, while age group of the victims show that  97 were under 18 year of age, 328 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 149 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 380 motorbikes, 52 auto rickshaws, 48 motor cars, 13 vans, 5 passenger buses, 11 trucks and 83 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
