2,716 students return country after completing studies

ISLAMABAD: A total of 2,716 students have returned the country in last five years after completing their higher studies under the Overseas Scholarship Project in various countries.

According to a document, 581 scholars and students returned in 2009, 642 in 2010, 686 in 2011, 468 in 2012, 322 in 2013 and 17 students have so far returned to country this year after completing their higher studies on scholarship.

Meanwhile, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has awarded 1,032 scholarships including 419 Overseas and 613 local during the current financial year.

According to the document, 1,548 scholars have been sent abroad in last three years under various scholarship programmes.
