Monitoring Desk: Ankara, Turkey: Turkish Police are facing massive shakeups after more corruption cases appeared on surface and the government has removed 21 provincial Police chiefs, Zaman newspaper.

15 former provincial chiefs have been directed to report National Police Department (NPD) that is actual cadre of police service in Turkey.

Important provinces including Konya, Bursa and Gaziantep were on top of the list for change of police command. Turkish opposition is calling latest shakeups as “Purge” of those police officials who were probing corruption cases against ruling politicians.

“Countless waves of purges in the Turkish police have taken place since the Dec. 17 and Dec. 25 corruption raids that shook the country. The purges have drawn harsh criticism for being politically motivated and weakening the public order across Turkey”, reports Turkish media.

Turkish media indicates that morale of Turkish has gone down to zero and Police is not in position to fight any terrorist attack if ever Islamist terrorists start their activities in Turkey because police official are not ready to give their lives for their duty when they have no security of their jobs.
