ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges was informed that 200 more rooms would be built in Ninkana Sahib to provide relief to the Sikh pilgrims in Pakistan.
Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Muhammad Siddique ul Farooq informed the NA body that the offer for the construction of above rooms is available from different countries.
The NA Committee met here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur and attended by other members.
Siddique ul Farooq said that the work on construction of new rooms would be started after the “Baisakhi festival” in Pakistan.
He said Pakistan Gurdwara parbandhak committee had introduced laws for the allotment of the rooms to the foreign pilgrims and there was no practice of giving priority to anybody.
He said that he had set all to remove irregularities and corruption from his department.
The committee noted that there was no priority available to the minority member for allotment of the rooms during the different festivals. It observed that a special quota should also be allocated for the Hindu community in allotment of rooms.
The Chairman ETPB said that he would present these issues in board meeting of ETPB to address them.
