ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 17,000 payment points are being established across the Country to facilitate the distribution of Rs 12,000 per family under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program.

In a statement on Thursday, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar said that special protective measures have been ensured everywhere including in Mirpurkhas & Khairpur for the disbursement of the financial assistance among 12 million poor deserving families.

Under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program, a sum of Rs 12,000 each is being distributed among 12 million poor families affected by the ongoing lockdown in the wake of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic throughout the Country during the next two and half weeks after biometric verification.Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program - As many as 17,000 payment points are being established across the Country to facilitate the distribution of Rs 12,000 per family under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program. The federal government has allocated Rs 144 billion for THE Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme, which is a countrywide umbrella, and all provinces including the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, are part of this platform.

The people have been asked to can contact toll-free helpline number 0800-26477 for any query.

As of April 8, more than 40.3 million SMS had been received by the government on 8171 seeking the financial assistance under the program.

Earlier on Wednesday, while briefing the media in Islamabad about the prevailing Coronavirus situation, Prime Minister Imran Khan assured that the distribution of funds to the deserving families under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program will be totally merit-based, transparent and non-political what may come.
