15 militants killed in Khyber agency clash: ISPR

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: At least 15 militants were killed on Saturday morning in a clash with the security forces in Khyber agency, one of Pakistan’s seven semi-autonomous regions near the Afghan border.

   

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that about 30 to 35 militants attacked a check post of the security forces in Khyber agency’s Tirah valley.

The ISPR said that the security forces effectively retaliated the fire and foiled the militant attack.

The security forces seized bodies of 10 terrorists besides recovering arms and ammunition.

During the clash with the militants, three security personnel also sustained injuries, the ISPR said.

“15 terrorists were killed in ground action by security forces early morning today. 10 bodies of Ts along with their weapons and ammonitium are in custody of security forces. According to details a group of about 30-35 terrorists was observed forming near a post in Mastak Sub Sector in Tirrah. Troops on post valiantly engaged terrorists and surrounded them. Intense gun battle took place.  3 soldierd were also injured in action,” says a press release issued by the ISPR on Saturday.
