LAHORE, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that as many as 13 motorways are currently under construction in different areas of the country at a cost of Rs900 billion.

In a meeting with a delegation of Abu Dhabi Group of United Arab Emirates led by its Chairman Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan in Lahore on Tuesday, the prime minister said that his government has put the country on track to attain durable peace, sustainable economic growth and massive infrastructure development.

“We are satisfied with the successes of Operation Zarb-e-Azb launched to wipe out terrorism from the country, the prime minister said adding the Karachi operation which was launched with consultation of all the stake holders has helped in restoration of peace in the city.

The prime minister said that the government has managed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to industrial sector and remove curse of load-shedding from the country by 2018.

Nawaz Sharif said that transparent Liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreements will remove gas shortage from the country by next year.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that he is personally overseeing progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project which will connect the entire region through road networks and railways tracks. He said that on completion, CPEC will change lives of millions of people living in the region.

In his remarks, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al Nahyan felicitated the prime minister on his health recovery. He said that under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan has made significant development during the last three years.
