KARACHI, Pakistan: The 12th P@SHA Annual Conference and ICT Awards will take place at the Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore on October 12, 2015.

The events are being organized by P@SHA in an effort to create a platform for benchmarking innovators of the industry and in uniting a pool of knowledge workers for the further development of Pakistan’s ICT industry.

The P@SHA ICT Awards and Annual Conference is one of the biggest events organized in Pakistan to honor, recognise and boost innovation and talent in the ICT sector and to give innovators a platform to network and connect to form strong strategic business alliances.

In a statement, the President of P@SHA Jehan Ara said that the networking and recognition opportunities at P@SHA ICT awards bring emerging companies a step closer to peers, to innovators, to business people and to government representatives.

“These awards showcase IT companies developing creative software applications and cutting edge services, and provides them regional and international exposure through a series of on-going promotional activities both in Pakistan and abroad,” she said.

The main highlight of participating in P@SHA ICT awards is the chance to represent Pakistan in global forums, most importantly the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA). Winners of product categories of the P@SHA ICT Awards 2015 will be part of the P@SHA delegation from Pakistan that will compete at the APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Awards) in Colombo, Sri Lanka against 17 IT economies including Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Last year, product category winners of P@SHA ICT Awards went on to represent Pakistan at APICTA Jakarta, and team Pakistan bagged two gold and three silver medals. The full list of winners can be viewed here.

This year, P@SHA opened applications for participation about a month ago, and has received a lot of entries featuring diverse and innovative IT products. The tech startup scene in Pakistan is flourishing, our companies are making waves both locally and internationally and the recent development in the ICT sector spells hope for further growth and more employment opportunities in the industry.
