11 militants including key TTP commanders killed in Ziarat, Karachi & Lala Musa

QUETTA/KARACHI, Pakistan: At least 11 militants including key members of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed by the security force in various parts of the country on Friday.

Eight militants including TTP commander killed in Ziarat

The security forces conducted an operation in Ziarat district of Balochistan on Friday morning, killing eight militants including a local commander of the TTP.

The sources said that a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the possession of militants during the operation which was carried out in the Chotair area of Ziarat.

The militants were reportedly involved in acts of kidnapping and other terrorist activities in the area.

Unknown gunmen kill police inspector in Mastung

Two unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle shot dead a police inspector Muhammad Amin Shahwani on Friday in Mastung Bazar area, in an apparent incident of targeting killing in Balochistan.

The police and other law enforcement agencies reached the area; however, the assailant managed to escape from the scene.

An investigation into the incident went underway.

Two militants killed near Lala Musa

Separately, two militants were killed in an encounter with the police near Lala Musa town of Punjab’s Gujrat district on Friday.

Key TTP commander among four militants killed in Karachi

The Rangers killed a key TTP commander along with three other militants in Karachi in early hours of Friday.

The sources said that the Rangers personnel after receiving intelligence about the presence of militants in Musharraf Colony area of Karachi conducted a raid.

Subsequently, an exchange of fire took place between the two sides which left four militants including an important TTP commander identified as Abid Muchhar killed.

The militants also opened firing and hurled hand grenades when the Rangers personnel reached there, as a result one Rangers man was injured.
