10th Asia-Europe Meeting summit to be held on October 16, 17 in Milan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit will be held on October 16 and 17 in the Italian city of Milan.

   

The special assistant to the prime minister on foreign affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi will lead the Pakistan delegation at the summit, organized by the European Union and Italy.

The top officials who will be present at the meeting include 49 heads of state from Asia and Europe, the European Council president, the EU commissioner and the secretary general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The participants of the summit plan to discuss issues regarding their “Responsible Partnership for Sustainable Growth and Security” and other items of mutual interest.

The summit will provide a useful opportunity to discuss common political and security issues of regional and global significance.
