JACOBABAD: A blast took place at a religious rally near Jacobabad that killed one person and injured 12 others on Wednesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

A remote-controlled bomb planted along the roadside was detonated when a vehicle carrying Pir of Qambar Sharif, Sain Hussain Shah, and his grandsons passed by, police said.

   

Resultantly, Sain Hussain Shah’s grandson Shafiq Hussain Shah was killed while the Pir himself and his other grandson sustained injuries among 12 others in the explosion.

In the aftermath of the blast, the situation in Jacobabad became tense, while the Sunni Tehrik (ST) has called for a province-wide strike in Sindh on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain also condemned the attack, calling on the president to take immediate notice of the incident.
