The World Peace Delegation of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (“HWPL”), made up of the chairman, Mr. Man Hee Lee, and the chairwoman of the International Women’s Peace Group (“IWPG”), along with representatives of the International Peace Youth Group (“IPYG”) have begun paving the way to a peaceful future for our world. Together, they have embarked on 13 tours around the world to speak with and gather support from renowned leaders in both secular and religious sectors of society. This September, all the people they have met during their tours will gather in Seoul, to the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Summit which will be hosted by HWPL in conjunction with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (“ICD”).

The Summit is set to take place over two days (17 – 18 September 2014), with a press-conference preceding it (16 September) and the largest display of coordinated youth action for peace – the IPYG Walk for World Peace and Restoration 2014 – taking place on 19 September.

During the course of the two day summit, more than 2,000 VIP guests will participate in discussions on a variety of topics relating to religion and peace. VIP guests include former and current heads of state, prominent religious leaders, academics, legislators, community leaders, youth, and women leaders from all around the world.

With the vision to construct a powerful global network that integrates all groups, the chairman of HWPL, chairwoman of IWPG, and director of IPYG have been traveling around the world meeting with various national and community leaders to jointly draft an internationally applicable agreement aimed at bringing all wars to an end.

Many political leaders are giving their whole-hearted support to the movement, and have offered to speak at the summit. Among them are the likes of Emil Constantinescu (Romania), and Rodrigo Stjepan Mesic (Croatia).

The key focus of the summit will be on providing a meeting point for the ideologies of the world, the unification of the ideologies and value systems of the religions of the world, and spreading the message of peace. Following the signing of the aforementioned agreement, the chairman of HWPL will also announce the Declaration of the World Alliance of Religions.

Highlights of the program include the opening ceremony (17 September) which will take place in Seoul’s Olympic Stadium. All participants and VIP guests will gather and be treated to a spectacular performance depicting the underlying philosophy of the Heavenly Culture with the theme of The World as One. The second day (18 September) will focus mainly on the conference sessions and discussion groups under the theme of The Alliance of Religions. Furthermore, there will be a conference discussing various topics related to peace. The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) is going to have an opening ceremony continued over the page of “IWPG Network” to build a legal and institutional system that allows cooperation among international women leaders. Finally, following the summit, IPYG will conclude the event with a special walk on the 19 September under the theme The United Message of Peace.

The role of the world press and media in creating peace: turning the hearts of the people towards peace.

The World Peace Delegation and Mr. Lee wish to define the roles of cultural leaders, both secular and religious, in the creation and implementation of a new heavenly culture by appointing them as the ambassadors of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light to each continent and country. Though there have been many peace related discussions in the past, people are still suffering from the tragedy of war today more than ever before. During this time of conflict, a gathering of various national and community leaders in both secular and religious fields will astonish everyone and prove that the world desires for peace. It must be emphasized that the task of the media is to widely broadcast the news of the summit and all the programs of the event all over the world.
