SSP Faroq Awan, 8 others injured in Karachi suicide blast

KARACHI, Pakistan: At least three police personnel were killed while several others including the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Farooq Awan were injured in a suicide blast that occurred in the Defence area of Karachi on Thursday night.

The initial reports suggested that the vehicle of the SSP Farooq Awan was the target of the attack which took place in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 4.

The SSP Farooq Awan who suffered minor wounds in the attack was shifted to a private hospital in Clifton.

The vehicle of SSP Farooq Awan was completely destroyed in the blast.
