ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop will undertake a two-day official visit to Pakistan from May 6 to discuss a range of bilateral issues with the Pakistani leadership.
In a statement on Friday, a spokesman for the Australian High Commission to Pakistan said that the Julie Bishop will hold discussions with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal during her stay in Islamabad.
The spokesman said that Julie Bishop will also deliver a speech on women empowerment and gender equality issues in order to highlight the support of the Australian government to Pakistan in this regard. Her speech will have the audience of senior government officials and lawmakers.
Later on May 7, she will visit Lahore to meet with the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
The Australian foreign minister is also scheduled to inaugurate a project funded by the Australian government.
