Balochistan target killings leave 8 dead

QUETTA: Eight persons, including a woman, were killed in four different incidents of violence as a fresh wave of target killings gripped the provincial capital Quetta and Kohlu district, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 24 March, 2012.

Police officials told Dispatch News Desk (DND) that unknown armed shot dead Qari Abdul Basit near his house at Balochi Street. While two persons were killed, who were traveling in a pick-up, when unknown armed men attacked the pick-up with lethal automatic weapons when it approached them at the Saryab road on Saturday evening.

In other separate incidents of firing two persons, including a woman, were killed at Kashmirabad and Killi Deba.  While at least three people, including a tribal leader, were killed and six others, among them five women, injured in an attack in Kohlu district on Saturday.
